No Fallout 76 Cross-play Because Sony is Unhelpful, Who'd Have Thought It?

a minute read

This cross-play saga looks like it’s never-ending. It looks like each day there’s a completely new headline, or game drawn within the drama. Unfortunately today is another one of those days, as well as game is Fallout 76.

The online only survival adventure looks, on paper, such as perfect “communal” game. It can basically played if you’re attached to the interweb, it could possibly merely messed around with other people in the world, and it also almost encourages friends playthrough with its commitment of launch codes and co-op camp building. But, alas, it’s to not ever be.

When Fallout 76 launches in November, it’s going to be without cross-play support. And the reason? Well, that’s past Sony. Again. According to Bethesda director Todd Howard, it was actually something the studio want to do but was prevented from doing because of the almighty one. Sound familiar?

In interviews, via CNET, he was quoted saying:

“You can’t do cross-play in 76.?We’d just adore that but today we can not. Sony is not as helpful as everyone would love.”

So there we’ve got it. Directly from somebody who’s interfacing together. But it’s probably not handling when they’re putting the brakes on legitimate plans, might it be? On the other hand Sony’s within the luxurious position of leading the gaming market with zero you may dare jump ship. So that being said it’s more, “My ship, my rules, Swashbuckler!” Aye aye, captain?

Have your codes ready because Fallout 76 launches this November.

Is the whole cross-play debacle affecting you? Is it stopping you playing upon your granny, who’s performing a Dreamcast upon an OLED TV? Fire a comment on the box below.?
