We’ve covered a statement from Albert Penello, Microsoft’s Senior Director of Product Management and Planning, some days ago. Penello have also been featured within a interview published last Friday on MCVUK, where he admitted to being both impressed and surprised by Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro console.

I give them numerous credit for the purpose they did there. Except for me, quite possibly the most interesting observation is always that the two of us achieved an equivalent idea get the job done execution is slightly different.

This business has a tendency to diverge and converge in interesting ways, and clearly we don’t really know what they’re doing. Unfortunately we cannot have advice about what their plans are, and whenever they announced the Pro, I became as surprised as anybody else was.

They were built with a different idea planned for what they planned to build, which explains why it may look like we’re reacting about the they were doing. But folks in the company are aware that it’s experienced the whole shebang for several years, and that we have got to lock the specs years beforehand.

We saw the 4K shift coming. We do not join every technology that comes along, we more or less skipped 3D should you remember from the 360 era, so that we really trust 4K. We had been convinced and we all desired to develop a box that is the showcase device for 4K televisions. That is our design.

PlayStation 4 Pro launched worldwide on November 10th, 2016, costs three hundred dollars $399. Microsoft’s Xbox One X, on the other hand, is caused by release months later, on November 7th, 2017, and being $499. Reported by analyst?Lewis Ward, IDC Research Director for Gaming and VR/AR, the Xbox One X could ship around 4 million units throughout the end of 2018 while PlayStation 4 Pro may achieve five million shipments from the same timeframe.
